Yin-Yang Feminism Online Presentation and Discussion Group

While waiting for other participants to arrive, please read the meetup guidelines in order to ensure a smooth presentation.

Meetup Guidelines

  1. Comedy. This is my tool through which I usually communicate about these issues. One of the main disadvantages of meeting online is I can’t hear the sound of your laughter. Feel free to share reactions instead which is the smiley button at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Mute Microphone. This ensures that outside noises are not recorded. If you are in a quiet room you can leave your mic on so I can hear you laugh if you find something funny!
  3. Question Pauses. I will pause at different times during the presentation so you can ask questions. Please make your questions or comments as brief as possible and related to the subject.
  4. Generalizations! When I make generalizations about men or women, I understand that there are exceptions to everything I say. That is a core principle of yin and yang; that each person has different elements of the other.
  5. A free speech discussion not a debate. As the host of a global discussion, I’m also here to learn from you! You can attack ideas but not the person presenting them nor other persons in this discussion. Remember, I am just the messenger not the message!
  6. The Personal is not Necessarily Political. Some ideas in the presentation may be personally triggering. You are welcome to share a personal story or anecdote but please not whether you are speaking for yourself, all women or a particular group of women. This framing helps to keep perspective.
