Diversity & Free Speech For Companies, Non-Profits or Organizations

DFS Business Communication - An Alternative to DEI

Many government organizations, corporations, and business groups have programs on diversity, equity, and inclusion popularly known as DEI. While the goal of diversity and inclusion is laudable, studies and articles in Forbes, and Harvard Business Review have found that many DEI programs do not foster harmonious diversity but instead create more social division. This in turn affects company cohesion.

Hedonisia Diversity and Free Speech Business Communication Workshop. An alternative to DEI

Business Communication for Workplace Cohesion

Workers at many companies and even non-profits, often feel like they are walking on eggshells. They are worried if they make a wrong joke, display ignorance, comment on a stereotype, or a cultural criticism that it can lead to accusations of prejudice. This can have dire effects on a person's career, and social standing whether they are the accuser or the accused.

For many companies, it is the friction, debate, and laughter that emanate from open communication, where solutions to problems can often be found.

We are teaching how to be offended in a way that does not escalate a conversation into accusations of prejudice.

We use four professions as substitutes for social identities; police, politicians, bankers, and lawyers. We practice making jokes and criticisms across the world about these professions. This allows participants to practice being offended in a safe environment.

There are 5 Modules of the DFS Business Communication Workshop:

  1. DFS vs DEI - Intent versus Impact
  2. JISC - Jokes, Ignorance, Stereotypes, Criticism
  3. SISC - Social Identity Sensitivity Check
  4. PREP - Personal Responsibility Encouraging Personal Politeness
  5. SHaWR - Sexual Harassment, and Workplace Relationships

Create Diverse Teams that Match Each Other's Sensitivity Levels

We show you how to use a Social Identity Sensitivity Check (SISC) to see which team members align with each other in sensitivity levels. That way, you can create diverse dynamic teams that work well together.
